WANTED: Help with hibiscus

I received a dormant hibiscus. I have a sunroom and'

it has been inside all winter (and warm and sunny)

I noticed a lot of green shoots. I know this is good,

but the original plant is loaded with hard brown

shoots that look dead. Should I remove these??/

If they come out easy, then yes. If not then just prune them down to the crown- without nicking the crown of the plant.
