Hibiscus as Vines

Has anyone trained a hibisucs to be vine-like? I know there was a previous questions about forming into a tree and the response was how the main branch grew...well, could you train or at least force the brances to move up a trellus with a little manipulation and zip ties? :-)

I suppose you could, and use the ties to manipulate the way the branches grew.
I think that, if you're bound and determined to try this, your best bet would be to use Hibiscus Schizopetalus (Chinese Lantern). The branches hang down gracefully and are more "bendable" than those of H. rosa-sinensis.
I'm planning on forming mine into an espalier this summer.
I've also heard of people training these to go over an arbor.
There might be other species out there that would work well also, maybe someone will chime in with a suggestion.
