Fire and Ice Hibiscus care

I bought 2 Fire and Ice Hibiscus plants last July and planted them in my yard. I was told they would withstand the winter here so I left them out instead of digging up. I have yet to see any new growth on them(it is the end of March) and am a bit concerned. Will they come back or did I take bad advice?
They are lovely plants and I hope they will come back.
