Occasionally people ask about pruning plants. I usually do the majority of mine early in the year about 4-6 weeks prior to moving them outside. This last weekend I did the majority of this pruning and wanted to share some photos. Below is a before picture of my 4-5 foot 'Erin Rachel's' in October.

    This is the same plants afterwards. They now average about 2-3 foot.

    One week later, and the nodes are now active producing new areas for blooms. One stem will now become many.

    Also pruning is a great opportunity to propagate cuttings! Beautiful hibiscus gutzmek :)
