Question About Heartleaf Hibiscus

I just bought a plant called a Heartleaf Hibiscus. Not sure if it is tender or not, has pretty small red flowers. Can anyone tell me anything about this plant? Is it perennial? I live 2 hours NE from Houston. Thanks!

    I googled "Heartleaf Hibiscus" and found some info. Seems like it should be hearty where you are.
