hubiscus seed

I started some hubiscus seeds in a flat and I only got one to srout,then it started to droop now it is dieing. So now I am woundering what am I doing wrong and what show I do I have more seeds that I can try but I would like to know what to do? Any help would be great.

    Melissa,
    It could be a few things.
    Go to the Growing From Seed forum, and read the FAQ. You might figure it out from there, or at least know what is not the problem, and ask again : )

    Melissa,
    Drooping seedlings may be caused by "damping off." This is caused by a fungus that attacks the tiny seedlings stems near the soil level. A way to avoid this is to plant the seeds in sterile soil and don't over water them. I have also heard of soaking the seeds in 10% bleach or a fungicide before planting...though I have never tried this. Good luck.
