Each year, when several sets of leaves have grown on the hibiscus plant, a small green "worm" eats holes in the leaves. Any way to prevent this animal from eating on the plants? Does the animal described hatch from an egg that is laid on the leaf or does it crawl up the stem of the plant?

Anybody know when the hardy hibs are supposed to emerge. I cut them back last year. Did I kill them? Hubby calls me flower killer!They sure were beautiful last summer! Help!
