I was at lowes today and saw some hibiscus that said they only grow 6-12 inches high. I was thinking of using these all the way across my front flower beds as edging flowers and mix them with the lime green potatoe vines. Has anyone does this and do you have pictures? If not what do you think this would look like? Have any of you ever used hibiscus as edging flowers vs say something like zinnia etc. Also if I plant these in my front for edging do I need to do anything special as I read they can be pretty hard to grow in the soil, they grow better in pots. I live in the Dallas,tx area if this makes a difference.

The only "hibiscus" I know of that is a miniature is a mallow - musk mallow (Abelmoschus moschatus). If this is what you have (or some other kind that I don't know about), I would think you definitely could. I grew the musk mallow a few years ago in the border of one of my gardens. It worked quite well.
