Should I remove last season canes from water Hibiscus plant

I have one remaining water hibiscus plant. Should I remove the canes from last year? It has new growth but since I've lost the other plants I had I don't want to do something to cause this one to die.

I had transferred the other plants to a spot on the driveway (on a slope) but they did not make it.

    I.m guessing that these are the hibiscus with the giant flowers? If they are the just cut all the canes back, especially if you have new growth already then there is no reason to keep the dead canes.
