How do I get hibiscus to grow more

averil

Hi folks I would appreciate some help. I bought this hibiscus last year and it lives in a south facing window where it flowers beautifully. However it doesn't grow at all. It takes a helluva lot of water, I usually have to water every day. It looks like its in an orchid compost or something like that. Do you think if I repot it will start moving itself a bit. I appreciate any advice offered
Kind regards

    Averil,

Hibiscus typically require 4-6 hours of direct sun light, fertilizer, & water to produce abundant blooms and plant growth. Pot size may have some issues with being to small, but check the root system to see if it's root bound or not. The clay pot will absorb water from the potting soil, so you might repot in to plastic.

Hi pm, I've taken your advice and repotted it into a plastic pot. It was pretty much rooted up but the soil (I think) was a bit too light so I've put it in a mix of orchid compost, potting compost and some perlite. I shall see how it goes on.
    Thanx for your advice
    Regards
