Something ate my hibiscus!

I planted a lovely hibiscus that I found at Lowes last week and yesterday discovered every leaf had been eaten right down to the stem. I do not see any bugs...the only thing I can think of is the squirrels???? Do they eat hibiscus or is it some other kind of critter....

Work that quickly was likely done by critters larger than a bug. I would add rabbits and deer to my list of culprits.

Yard is fenced so can't be deer. But could be rabbits...I put netting over the pot for now. Interestingly, nothing else was snacked upon. I had no idea that critters have a taste for hibiscus!
