New hibiscus is dropping buds and leaves

I purchased this hibiscus about a month ago. it is in a six inch pot. It is not just one plant, it appears to be four small plants in the same pot to make the plant appear bushier.

The plant has dropped all its buds and is also losing its leaves. the leaves do not turn fully yellow, it starts in the veins and turns the leaf a bit yellow but there is still a lot of green.

What could be causing the leaf and bud drop? Should i separate all four plants into different pots or keep them in the same pots?

More than likely it is root bound. A 6 inch pot is mighty small for a hibiscus. If this is a hardy hibiscus go ahead and put it in the ground or if a Tropical put it in at least a 2 gallon or bigger pot.
