Rose of Sharon...cause of death :(

wondering if this Blue Satin rose of sharon tree form needed to be planted with the swelling below soil level??? I had it two year and this year...DEAD....was it grafted???too bad the nursery didn't instruct me to do so! oh well...live and learn....

Had 2 trees that did not leaf out this year and both were dead. So dead that I lifted them out of the ground with one hand.Cause of death is unknown.

... after two dry years and the winter we just had, there are lots of things that did not make it ... too bad it didn't take out the knockout rose. it is pretty but I loathe dealing with it, even with gloves ...
