Actually many Hibiscus species are edible and used for tea; however the predominant Hibiscus is H. sabdariffa. It is a fast grower and is a true "annual" no matter where you live.

Do a google search on H. sabdariffa and you'll get many differnet looking plants...flower color, form and habit are all varied! I seen one supposedly as a tree! How would a person know they are getting what they ask for with so much confusion? I really would like to find this Hibiscus for tea too.

    Thanks,

    Vera
