Going to cry!!! Hardy Hibiscus problem

Waited so long to see signs of life on my hardy hibiscus, planted last summer. Bloomed beautifully last year after planting. As you know they are slow to sprout in the spring. Had a very healthy shoot coming along, about 6 " tall..........someone or thing stepped on it a broke it right off. Will it send another or is this plant doomed?

it will either send up another sprout or not but regardless it will come back next year. someone / thing broke off mine 2 yrs ago at about 12" no sprout that year but it came back the year after bigger & stronger :)

once it is active, it will send up another shoot this spring.
