Hibiscus

I received a Hibiscus for Mother's Day. Can this be planted in the garden or should I leave it potted and take it in in the winter. There was no tag on it so I'm not really sure what type of care it needs-light, water, etc.

TIA for any help.

There's a good chance it's a tropical hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis). If it is, you'll need to keep it in a pot.
Here's a link to help you ID it and understand the care if it is, in fact, a tropical hibiscus.

Thanks so much for this site. It is very informative. Definitely a tropical hibiscus. Lots of more reading to do.

    Thanks again.
