Climbing Hibiscus?

I got a Hibiscus for mothers day. It was potted with a small wood trellis. I noticed lately that it has long, for the lack of a better word, tentacles sprouting out of it. I have it on my deck and these long pieces seem to be trying to grab ahold of the rails. I do not know if there is a such thing as a climber or what. Anyone have any experience with this?

There is a similar post in the forums on gardenbuddies.com. This may be the same plant the OP is speaking of. Maybe they'll return soon to let us know :)

Your description sounds more like a climbing Hydrangea.
