How hardy is Mahogany Splendor--really???

I have two of these and I'm trying to decide on placement in my garden. If they are annual here, the spot will be different than if I can expect an encore! My research has told me that no one can decide on this one's hardiness, so turning to the forum, for the best knowledge, as usual.

In your experience, how hardy is this guy? Anyone having success with it returning in zone 7 or below? Many thanks!

That is not a hardy it's a tropical. Which means, yes, annual unless you are in zone 9 or Mexico, Hawaii, etc.

Well, I thought it was zone 9, but when I started researching, I saw some some sites that said zone 7 and then I even saw one that said zone 5! I just laughed at that one, but there were several that did say zone 7, so it made me question the tag.

I would leave one in a nice 5 or 6 gallon pot to bring in when autumn turns to winter; since you bought two. Then you will be assured of still having at least one next year.
