Hibiscus as screen?

Does anyone have any feedback on using hibiscus as a tall-ish screen? I'd like to use Brilliant/San Diego red to create a block between the house and a busy street but want to make sure that it will fill in densely up to about 8 feet. The main goal is to have an effective screen. I thought the hibiscus would be a very pretty one and it's supposed to be hardy. Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing as far as growth habit and make sure I'm not asking something unreasonable of it. I do find pictures like this on the web but I don't see it being used anywhere locally like this even though we're zone compatible and I can't imagine why. Any and all guidance is most appreciated! Thanks!

Did you plant the screen? How did it work for you? Also, what is your zone? Many thanks!
