Hibiscus Stems Yellowing and Dropping

Hello. I'm new to these forums and I'm also a new Hibiscus owner. I just purchased my plant, a 7" Tropical Braided Hibiscus 3 days ago and I have had three stems turn yellow and then fall off the plant after their flower pods had been pruned a while back. I transplanted the Hibiscus into a much larger pot after I bought it, and it is receiving more water and light than it was in the greenhouse where I got it. I talked to the place where I purchased it, and they said it was probably a bug problem. Are they right, or is it stress from the new conditions or possibly something else? Thank you for your time.

Buds Dropping Now: Thrips?

I just awoke this morning to notice that several of the buds on my Hibiscus have dropped, and I now remember seeing several tiny, slender blackish-brown insects on the plant here and there over the past few days. I did a little research, and this is beginning to look like a thrip infestation to me. Any thoughts would be appreciated, as well as any solutions. Thank you for your time.
