Help with my Hibiscus Trionum l

Joel Morris

I have a hibiscus Trionum l, I hope I'm spelling it correctly, that has only bloomed once. It has lots of buds on it, but it never blooms and the pods produce seeds. I've never seen anything like it. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Maybe I've got a freak plant! lol, anyway I'm saving the seeds and I hope they're viable. Thanks for any info anyone can offer. Thanks, Joel.

If it produced seed pods, it flowered before that. Perhaps you missed the blooms? Out of town? Too busy to get outdoors often?

It may be self-seeding for some reason. Blooms sometimes don't open on self-seeding flowers. Or, something such as thrips may be keeping them from opening. If it's produced seed, they are probably viable.
