Need help identifying Huge Hibiscus

My parents have this HUGE hibiscus plant growning in their front yard. They know that it is a Hibiscus and suspect that it is a Dinner Plate variety (the blooms are literally that large in diameter). It grows to over 6 feet in height and blooms almost continuously through the summer.

They are looking for information on exactly what kind of plant this is and how they can propogate it. Dad tried extracting seeds last fall and looks like he may be having some success with starting them this year. We'll have to wait and see.
