looks like sugar or?

I started 2 hibuscus from seed so they are still fairly small

The bigger one is 12 to 14 inches tall

I noticed stuff on them yesterday,

on the stems & leaves, it looks likes sugar

(That is the best way to describe these)

Since I didn't sprinkle sugar on these plants I assume it is some type of bug..

Any ideas what this is?

I sprayed the plants off with the hose

I was kinda rough & ripped some leaves...

I don't know what type of hibiscus these are, but they have fine hairs all over the stems & leaves

Is it powdery? I notice a white powder sort of substance on my hib leaves after watering. It seems to be where water has dried on the leaves and I've wondered if that's how the leaves react to water or something? Still trying to figure it out myself.

No, it is not powdery. It actually looks like shiny little grains of sugar.
I guess it is some type of bug or bugs eggs or??
I keep spraying it off with water but they keep coming back.

Powdery sounds like maybe it is powdery mildew??
