New hibiscus

I was given a hibiscus about a week ago from one of the big box stores. It has quite a few blooms and the leaves are dark green.
Some of the lower leaves are turning yellow and one of the blooms flowered but only lasted one day before falling off. It is still in the original container in a sunny location and I water it daily. How do I know when its time to re-pot and is there anything I need to do to make the new blossoms last longer? This is my first plant of this kind and I'm clueless.

A hibiscus is basically a one-day flower. They'll open in the morning, close that night and be wilted the next day. Some will stay open but look pretty sad the second day.
While hibiscus should be watered often, too much water will cause yellowing and dropping of leaves.
If it's in a 1-gallon pot and is no more than 2 feet tall, it should be OK for now.
