Colored Hibiscus Leaves turning all Green

Does anyone know how to fix this problem. This Hibiscus

had beautiful colored leaves when planted. We had awful freezes last year for Houston. Is this related. I had to cut it this hibiscus back to the root, but it did survive.

I have planted another in another location and it has beautiful leaves at this time.

Is there any fix for this. I had heard you could buy special plant food. Another site said to pull all the leaves off and it might revert.

Thanks in advance for any help. Caroltropicals

I think your colorful hibiscus was probably grafted. The desirable part was likely killed, but the rootstock survived and resprouted green because the rootstock is an all green variety.
