Hello -

A friend called me lastnight to ask how she should care for a plant she just bought, labeled 'hibiscus braid' (the blooms are red). I know nothing about hibiscus, so I told her I'd ask here. I'm relatively sure they're not winter hardy in our zone, but that it should be all right on the patio for the summer.

So, what tips can you give a first-time hibuscus owner? What kind of soil and/or fertilizer do they like? Water? Sun exposure? Any info would be much appreicated.
