| Hi,
I'm wondering if others have experience with Hibiscus syriacus lavender chiffon in a cold climate. Does it winter over in USDA4 or Canadian zone 5? Mary |

| I have a lavender chiffon Rose of Sharon. We had the coldest February since 1963 here last winter. The average daily temp all month was 19 degrees. THe little bush was small, but well mulched in. It is fine now. Blooming like crazy, beautiful light purple blooms that are almost double blooms. Just mulch it in real good with at least 3 inches of natural pine mulch and it should be fine. In my experience, the lavender chiffon is not as vigourous a grower than my other varities. You need a little patience with it, but it is worth it. Good luck! |
