Help needed with Apricot Brandy Hibiscus!

Posted by macsmac TN (My Page) on

I have a beautiful healthy hibiscus and it is blooming well - but the stems are so small and weak that the blooms droop. Is the type of plant or is there something I can do to remedy? It is planted in a pot and stands about 30" tall. I am in middle TN.

I've never grown that cultivar, but it could just be the plant. hibiscus varities tend to be selected for elaborate blooms, not for being good strong plants.

More sun and less nitrogen in fertilizer could help produce more compact plants.
