perennial hisbiscus dying

This is second year for this perennial hisbiscus. Last year it did not do well, no blooms. I think it is too close to another plant. Now it has started to droop and die one branch at a time.

does anyone know what my problem might be?

First how often are you watering your hibiscus, is it a hibiscus thats outside all year or is it a plant that your bringing in in the fall. could be a couple diffrent things I have been growing hibiscus for the past four years I know some and might be able to help.
