Don't know what kind I have

I bought a Hibiscus from Lowes and all it says on it is "hibiscus bush" It said it needed full sun and moist soil, but I don't know what kind it is. I've seen some things on here about Tropical hibiscus. How do I know if I have that? It won't make it through the winter here!!!

Here's a website dedicated to tropical hibiscus. You likely have a tropical variety (Hibiscus rosa sinensis).

Here is a link that might be useful: Tropical Hibiscus

This summer I went to Lowes stores, in Oklahoma, looking for hardy swamp hibiscus. No luck finding any there: all they had were tropical hybiscus shrubs.

If that is the case in our USDA zone 6b or 7 it certainly is possibly still the case in North Carolina
