    i am unfortunately(fortunately :p) nowhere near Kansas. they just stated a so cal group - can't do that either :(

    Not a whole lot of hibiscus fans in KS use this forum.

    Are there very many tropical gardeners in Kansas ? (your neighbor to the SE) :)

    Hardy hibiscus can be grown in Canada with no problem.
    It doesn't have to be the tropical form.
    You can grow hardy hibiscus in Oklahoma and Kansas.
    In the ground. It's hardy,

    To answer your question, there are very few and likely they do not have collections as large as mine. The mallow and syriacus varieties do quite well here when planted outside. All my tropicals come indoors during the winter.

    Yeah, I have lived in Nebraska and Oklahoma...so I've surrounded Kansas you might say....I believe it ;)
