Southern Belle in San Diego?

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and need some help. I saw some big Southern Belle hibiscus plants at our local Home Depot today and was blown away by their size and beauty. I had never seen them before. Now my questions are:

- do they do well in Southern CA?

- do they get a lot of white flies like my other hibiscus?

- do they really go dormant even in our mild climate?

- what do you like/dislike about these plants in this type

of climate?

I would love any feedback you can give me. I would hate to buy one of these lovely plants and then not have it work out just because I did not educate myself beforehand. Thanks,

Iso

It is a hardy hibiscus, so you can plant it in the ground in So. Cal. Most hibs are subject to torment by those pests, so be prepared. Nothing to dislike about hibs, I love them.
