Losing my seed pod on Texas Star

I have 3 wonderful Texas Star plants. But, I can't seem to get my seed pod to mature before it is gone. For some reason, one day they are large and green and then next, they are gone. The whole thing is just missing. I can't find it on the ground. I thought that maybe squirrels or birds were eating them, but the whole shell is missing not just the pod inside. Any ideas?

Wait until it cools down a bit and they'll set seeds easier. I don't know what happens to them after they hit the ground, but they're probably dropping off from the heat.
