Air layering

Hello Friends,
I have been intrigued by the air layering process and decided to try it this year with my Hibiscus Psyche. I let one branch grow without pruning from last winter. In the midst of May, when the weather warmed up, I trimmed the leaves, scraped off the bark for about 1 inch and then applied rooting hormone and covered with sphagnum moss and plastic wrap and foil (to prevent the sun's hot rays).
In July, I opened it to look whether it needed moisture, sure enough the sphagnum moss had dried and long lovely roots were growing. I trimmed the stem and planted it . I will keep you updated on the process. The advantage is it gets nutrition from parent plant and you can get a larger plant by this way.
Thanks.
