I assume your climate is tropical as well, because if not, pot is best so you can move them around to cater for sun and winter, though more work is involved. Inside when conditions very cold.

Ground is best as attention can be less intensive and therefore more forgiving. Results are generally more consistent. Ground grown will also tolerate cold down to 5 degrees celius.

With right attention, potted plants can come very close to same results as ground.
