New To Hibiscus.... looks like 'Red Heart'...

but the flowers are so much smaller than what I see when I googled it. Anyway, here's my question. The shrub is healthy green, producing these pretty red flowers (although small), but some of the stems are like five feet, while others are much shorter.

Can I prune down the tall ones to make the shrub stronger - or is there no purpose in doing that (losing flowers, too..) because the shrub will probably die down as soon as we have frost anyway.

Totally ignorant when it comes to ROS - Thanks

Carrie

Get the flowers now and then prune in the fall or spring to bush it up.
