Who am I?

I received a rooted cutting last year that the person called a morning glory tree...which I've never heard of before but it sure looks like a hibiscus to me. I was thinking it might be Kopper King but I can't find a picture with a good enough shot of the foliage to tell. It's new growth and stem are a deep rich burgundy with older leaves(plamated and serrated) turning dark, dark green, veins, edging of the leaf and leaf stem have burgundy coloring.Back leaf is flushed with burgundy. It hasn't bloomed yet so no discription of flower if any available as yet.

I need to know what it is so I know if I can leave it in the ground over winter or if it needs to be dug up and brought in.
