I got a hibiscus from Home depot resently. I'm in Wisconsin (zone 5) I have the plant in the yard,.. It did fine at first, got several blooms, but then the branches started to drop.I 'd find about 3 inches of the top of a branch on the gound every morning.the end looking like it was cut at an angle. now it's happened to just about every branch.growth above and below cuts seem find, buds on cut ends still look ok.( we've been getting alot of rain and it's a little cool for this time of year)Anyone have any ideas? Bug? Bird? animal?Wetness? disease?( don't think it's a nasty neighbor we don't have any i know of) any input will help, thanks.

From your description, I wonder if it could be slugs (tied in with all that wet weather). Maybe you should bring the plant in for the season already. You can cut back to normal growth and it will quickly regrow in a sunny postition.
