is this okay to now or should I wait for the Spring? I have 5 ROS and although I love them, the make a huge mess when they drop their buds all over the front walkway. Anyway, do you know if its okay to move them at the end of August - I'll be off a couple of days for Labor day?

    Hi.
Do it if you must do it,I would wait unttil Spring, when your ROS grew all it's leaves. It would mean to me,that the plant is strong and will survive any difficulties.
Anyone would move them at the end of August?
    Regards,
    Hala.

I moved to my home 3 years ago in October. I dug up several bushes to bring with me, and one was a rose of sharon. It did fine moving it, but it had nearly gone dormant by the time I moved it.

Yes, I too have moved ROS when it is dormant in the early Spring or late Fall -- estimating six weeks until the first frost.
