Dark Rose Hibiscus

A gardening center in Minnesota gave me 6 Dark Rose Hibiscus with crimson leaves. I was told they are very fragile. Being in zone 4, I wondered first if mulching with straw would help, and do hisbiscus need to be in shade or full sun. The gardening center do not know what zone these plants live in as they were about to be thrown away.

Any help would be appreciated.
