Floppy Hibiscus Flowers

I have an absoloutely gorgeous hibiscus which is pumping out 3-5 double blooms a day. It's a 2.5 year old root that diesd to the ground after a heavy winter, but has come back like a champ.

Unfortunately the stems on the blossoms are puny. Which results in the great big heavy flowers pointing downwards to the ground and putting a real cramp in the show, since they end up facing down.

Two questions.

What kind of hibiscus might this be?

and

will the stems become thicker over time, or will these be blooms best enjoyed in vases?

it may be a double wave hibiscus or confederate rose. I don't know about the stems...can you stake them up? Very pretty!
