Help....is there a proper way to winterize a hibiscus syriacus shrub and hopefully keep it alive? I'm not really sure of what zone I am in but it is Cold Lake in Alberta. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am not sure, either, but you may want to mulch the lower 6 to 12 inches of the shrub in case the top dies back. It will likely bloom on the new growth from the winter mulched section if it has gotten cold enough to kill the top. Be sure to remove the mulch in the spring, leaving perhaps an inch or two to conserve moisture, control weeds, etc.
