Can ROS be split in half?

I have a Blushing Bride ROS that has 2 equal "trunks" coming out of the ground - each is between 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter. The plant is 2 1/2 feet high. I'd like to split the plant in half with 1 trunk & half the roots for each plant. Is this doable? I only spent $5 on it a year ago so it wouldn't be a big loss if it died.

I managed to do this with my tropical hibiscus (H. rosa-sinensis). It was about the same size as your ROS.
I removed all the dirt from around the roots so I could make sure each half got a decent amount of roots. Worked just fine!

Thanx for the info, Barb! I believe I'll give it a try. I'd like to get two standards going.

Suggestion, try it late in the Fall or early in the Spring. Good luck.
