help!!! my clown hibiscus is dying !!!!!

I bought a clown hibiscus (cold hardy) on ebay last month & it arrived looking like it had been thru a war-stems broken knocked out of its pot & dry as a bone, but barely alive,I planted it in a part-shade spot to try & reduce stress & watered it with fish fertilizer,it seemed to rally & then I caught my fat furry feline sitting on it (I guess he enjoyed the cool soil) the remaining small stem has perished-what can I do to help save it?

I'd keep watering it. It may come back from the roots, even this fall when the weather cools a bit.
