Newbie needs advice

A mysterious gift appeared on my porch today. I suspect it is from the nice neighbor lady.

It is a hibiscus plant in a half-gallon pot, looks healthy and leafy and has some flower buds.

The tag says hibiscus rosa-sinensis, and it looks like the variety name may be Lanai. The photo shows a single row of petals and a mauve color.

We live in coastal southern California, zone 9/10.

Hope you can help me figure out what to do with this beauty.

You live in an ideal climate for growing the Hibiscus rosa-sinensis outdoors year round. The link below has some good information.
