blue river II hibiscus

Hi all,

I bought a blue river II hibiscus this summer and planted it in a container. It was putting on a major show until last week when night time temperature went down to 40s. THe nursery i got this from said that this is a hardy hibiscus in MA. The plant started going downhill and all its leaves and budsh are droopy and dying. Is this common ? If so, can i plant this guy in the ground today?

I looked it up and it is hardy where you are - it's a Hibiscus moscheutos.
Is anything different recently other than cooler temps? Is it getting more water than usual? What you're describing sounds like it could be that. It could also be starting to go dormant, not sure about that though.
Regardless, I would think you could definitely plant it in the ground now.
