Long blooming Hibiscus syriacus

Excuse my spelling, I am trying to identify some of the longer-blooming cultivars of Rose of Sharon. Three years ago i purchased what I thought was a 'Diana' -- white outside with a burgandy innard and it bloomed for all of two weeks for two years. Last year I cut it back and transplanted it, thinking that it wasn't happy where it was. It died.

Now I'm older and wiser-- it has almost full-sun in well-drained soil. Does it take a few years for this plant to really bloom or should I be looking at other cultivars. Would love a purple or a pink!

Thanks.

Suzanne

I have a 'Redheart'. It opened it's first bloom on July 23rd and it's still blooming. 'Minerva' is a nice pink with red eyezone.
