Hibiscus

Im new to this plant, I bought it from a Walmart in the spring. I did read the little "card" that came with the plant, but dont remember seeing anything about what type of Hibiscus it was. I am looking for information on both what type of Hibiscus I have, tropical or hardy, as I have seen them referred to on various websites. Also on how to care for my type of plant over our harsh Chicago winters. How can I tell what type of plant I have?

Patti,
A trop hib will have deep green shiney leaves and produce a red, pink,yellow or orange bloom. If you have one, you should take it inside over the winter.

A hardy hib will have light green leaves but I am not sure what zone they are hardy until. HTH
