How to prune this?

Hi I have this sickly looking Habiscus and I want to prune it to about a foot to a foot and a half and maybe try to root the cuttings too. What do you guys think?

    Just learning about Hibiscus, but if you pruned it back to right above that small branch that is a foot down to the right, it should be ok. Also, can you put it up on the table so the bottom of the plant gets light too? About propagation, not having great luck, there are youtube videos, hope someone else can help.
