black spots on tropical hibiscus leaves

I have a tropical hibiscus which is growing and blooming well on a screened porch. I noticed that there are black spots on some of the leaves which can be rubbed off. I have cut off those leaves but the black spots appear on other leaves. Could you please tell me what that is, and how I can prevent it from happening.

It may be sooty mold, but that usually appears on the stems. I'd take it to a local nursery or your county cooperative extension and see what they say.

Thanks for the input. After cutting off all the affected leaves, I sprayed pyola insect repellent on the entire plant including the stems. It's been about 3 weeks and I haven't seen any more black spots. Hopefully the problem is solved.
